Photos from Adventures of the Past!

So I decided that since I put one of my old pictures on here, I decided to include a bunch more!  Check them out!

I turned into a giant monster when some scientist dude in Shanghai hit me with some sort of laser.  Look at me wreaking havoc!

I hugged Oprah!  She was more excited about it than I was.

I was nearly attacked by no ordinary bear!

I visited Iceland!

I even got to go on the old The Price Is Right with Bob Barker!!!

I kissed a shark.  K, see ya!

Wow! How could I have ever lost this photo!

So I was rummaging through some old photos from vacations past, and discovered this awesome picture that I was able to be in with 4 American presidents!  (Well, Gerald Ford could have been in it, too, but I decided to stand strategically in front of him.)

LSAT, done. The sequel... with nerdery on the side.

First of all, the fall colors are starting to come out in the canyons. I'm excited for when it looks like this picture all over Cache Valley.

Yesterday was the LSAT again. My second time through it was significantly better. I liked the environment better, the people conducting the test were a lot better, and I felt a lot less anxious about the whole thing. I knew what to expect and got it done. I also felt a LOT less fried when it was over. I'd say I'm 90% sure that my score will at least go up. Whether it will go up very much... I'm not too sure, but I'm pretty sure it's at least going to improve. I sure hope so anyway. I'd be pretty pissed if it didn't. One thing that was pretty darn annoying about the particular test I got was that the 5th section was a second reading comprehension section. UGH. That's the most difficult section for me usually, so I wasn't excited to see it on there twice. I was really hoping to get two analytical reasoning sections. (My favorite by far these days.) Anyway, it's weird to be totally done with the LSAT. Now I have all these random practice LSAT books laying around and nothing to do with them. (I suppose I could let someone take them if they wanted them!)

So, that was the LSAT. Now for the nerdery. Immediately following the test I went to the conference center here on campus and found my Geography Bowl team. I was surprised to see that there were 5 other teams that showed up!!! I can't believe that so many schools actually came to USU for this conference and brought geography bowl teams! Each team consisted of 6 members. We were taken into various rooms where each of us faced one other team. We did this for five rounds. My team was great! First we beat Air Force, then we beat Wyoming, another team from Air Force, followed by some tiny school called Adams State College. Then came the last round... dun dun DUN! Who was the opponent? The only other undefeated team... Kansas State. Yeah, they beat us. Our team got second. Not a very cool story, sorry. I was surprised to see that I got 8th overall. I felt pretty good about that what with only being a Geography minor and all. (I missed making the top 6 and qualifying to get a travel stipend for the Washington D.C. competition by one question. Darn it! Not that I would have gone... but yeah.) I have to admit though, I had a BLAST!
Nerd=me. :)

Well, that was my exciting day yesterday. Have a super day!
K... bye.

Donkey Kong and Leonard Nemoy?

This chat conversation seriously just happened, and I'm slightly proud of it:

Donkey Kong sees this situation and calmly strolls to the concierge's desk to quench the fire. He apologizes to the concierge for Mr. Nemoy's attitude and promptly tosses Leonard into a barrel. You and Mr. Kong are thereby free to resume the pleasures of the crisp sea air.

The LSAT is tomorrow.  I'm hoping that all will go well.  Wish me luck, or even better, feel free to pray for me.  You, the random person who opted to stop by my blog before 8:30 a.m. tomorrow morning.

K, bye!

Hi! Some random thoughts on this fine 'Eptember Eve'n

(Uploaded for no good reason, just randomness.)
  • Sometimes I like to randomly put a 'postrophe in words 'at wouldn't norm'ly have 'em.  And some that norm'ly would, too.
  • I enjoy getting sleep a WHOLE lot better than not getting sleep.  Trust me, it's MUCH better.
  • Did you know that while he claimed to have anti-slavery sentiments, George Mason hypocritically had slaves to keep up appearances?
  • I look semi-zombielicious right now.
  • No offense, but that was a really cool word I just invent'd.
  • There was once a law that banned Native Americans from riding horses in California (Before it was a part of the United States).  That was only for the Spaniards or Mexicans.
  • I kinda like college football this year.
  • I cheered for Sammy Sosa n' Mark McGwire.  Oops.
  • The LSAT's 6 days from now.  Crud.  Or yay.  But mostly crud.  5 hours long.
  • I saw in the news that the Army's general that is over the war effort in Afghanistan is recommending that we get many more boots on the ground.  Is this war ever going to end?
  • Aside from the tiredness that is eating my body alive at the moment, I'm quite happy.
  • "Do you remember the 21st night of September?
Love was changing the mind of pretenders
    While chasing the clouds away

    Our hearts were ringing
In the key that our souls were singing.
As we danced in the night,
Remember - how the stars stole the night away, yeah yeah yeah.

    Hey hey hey,
Ba de ya - say do you remember
Ba de ya - dancing in September
Ba de ya - never was a cloudy day!"  --"September" by Earth Wind and Fire
  • K, see ya.

Fishing, AGAIN! Woohoo! Albino?

I think Spencer and I have gone fishing three times since I last wrote the post about our fishing trip.  We've been fishing on the Logan River four times in the past few weeks.  Today was a particularly fun day.  We actually had a really slow go of it until we got to one hole that was full of fish we could see.  Spencer caught a nice rainbow out of it, but then we kept seeing some others that looked a bit yellow.  They were weird.  I kind of became obsessed as three of these yellowish fish were all in that hole and would occasionally react to what we threw at them.  I almost caught one by accidentally hooking it in the side, but it quickly got off.  We tried just about everything we had, but to no avail.  Finally we gave up and moved on.  Then just past that hole I saw another yellow fish on the opposite bank.  I cast almost to him a couple times and he looked interested in my fly.  Finally I landed one right where I wanted it and he came flying out of the water and nailed it.  He's the albino rainbow you see in these fine cell phone photos I have here.  (Thanks Spence!)  I was really excited to have finally caught one of the yellow fish so I could see what was up with them.  I also caught a nice brown trout shortly thereafter.  As you can see I was having a good time.  Spencer and I are almost definitely going to be up there as long as it's warm enough.  (My fingers were numb from the cold water!)
Hmm... pretty sure there's other stuff that I really wanted to write about in here, but oh well.  Sorry about the lack of entries of late.  I've been distracted by a Bulgarian named Claus.   Random stuff.

Ok, well, see you later!

Nerdery...

Just thought I'd stop by and let you all know that my nerdery knows no bounds.  I'm going to be on Utah State University's Geography Bowl team!  Haha, wow.  I'm awesome.  Except when it comes to my Spanish test today.  Estoy muy agobiado.  I hope I didn't bomb it, but there's a chance I did.  I lose nerd-points there.

Anyway, I think that's about it.  I'm pumped because I'm going fishin' again tomorrow!  Whoohoo!  Bye.

Some Random Thoughts Amidst a Spell of Procrastination

  • Sometimes it doesn't matter if you forget to grab a spoon to accompany your pudding cup.
  • I may or may not be saying the phrase may or may not a little to frequently of late.
  • I think I might be a kick-trash singer trapped in a crappy singer's body.
  • Um, 9/9/09 is cool and all, but did we all forget that there was a 9/9/99? That was way more awesometastic.
  • I like loud music. Deal with it, ears!
  • Would you believe me if I told you that I'm actually an undercover CIA agent working on discovering an anarchist that plots to destroy our nation's future by never pushing his chair in when he leaves Utah State University computer labs? You're gullible!
  • Why is it that we no longer use the word sally? How else would I describe a sudden flurry of action or a leaping forth? I sally every time that Goblin (Leon, ya know, the one who lives under the bridge) sallies toward me! See? It's highly useful.
  • I might need to eat some real food soon, that fake food isn't cutting it for my nutrient deficiencies of the moment.
  • Fingers make great spoons.
  • K, see ya.

Fishing...

I went fly fishing today on the Logan River. It was fun. Not super successful by any means, but I did enjoy it. Spencer and I went up the canyon, and as it was Labor Day, everyone and their dogs (literally, we saw dogs) went up there as well. It was hard to find a good spot to fish, but once we finally found a decent stretch of open water I started seeing fish rise. I missed a couple fish, had a fairly decent one break my fly off, and I caught one small cutthroat. Good enough for me! (I always say that I'm glad if I can catch just one fish.) Unfortunately Spencer got skunked. I think we'll probably end up fishing up there at least once more before the frosty death that is winter seizes our lives.

LSAT studying is getting a bit more intense now that the test is fast approaching. (It's on the 26th) I got my best score ever on my practice test I took tonight. So I'm feeling more confident this time around. We'll see how things are going as I get closer to the big deal.

Alright, well I'm going to bed now. G'night!

Spam?

Mmm, yummy...or not...

I honestly have no idea what Spam has to do with anything right now. However, I will say that I got on the internet about 6 or 7 hours ago with the intention of writing an entry about how well school is going and how I'm happy and nothing is really wrong. But then I went to a girl's apartment, and here I am at 2:27 and 34 seconds AM and my feelings are not really the same. (as you can see the entry didn't ever happen earlier.)

I don't really vent about it on this blog very often, but dating and I do NOT get along. We're like siblings being forced to share a back seat for a long, long, long drive (that feels WAY longer than it really is) and we just can't get comfortable together. For most of the time, we leave each other alone, but every so often we decide to play a game. EVERY time we play a game it all ends in a long spell of me being upset that I didn't win, while dating gloats over its victory.

Anyway, yeah, things didn't go great tonight. (It wasn't a date or anything, just an entire potential relationship that went down the tubes.)

Looking at pictures of Spam makes me feel a bit better though.

My mom always says, "Life sucks, then you die." I'm going to take the liberty of replacing "life" with the word "dating," and the word "die" with a ?. I don't know what the other side of dating is like, but I'm ready to get there. Maybe dating and I can just finish one game of Travel Connect Four or electronic The Price Is Right and be at peace with one another.... one day.

I'm not sure what I'm writing about anymore. Good night.
